We had a very exciting day in the Mortimer household yesterday! We spent a lot of the morning up at the allotment, tending to the various plants we have growing there, and planting an army of chilies and peppers.

Once we had made sure everything was safe from weeds and well watered, we harvested some produce! Perfect for our Sunday dinner later on. We've now sampled chard, broccoli, and sorrel. We have beetroot still to experience, and you know what? Yesterday I ate a flower - more specifically a nasturtium - and oh my gosh what a crazy flavour that was! It was somewhere in between an apple and a chili!

But intense flavour isn't just exclusive to the nasturtiums, everything that we've grown so far has been bursting with taste. It's been wonderful watching the vegetables that we have sown grow into harvestable and edible ingredients, I can't wait to eat whatever our allotment gives us next!
See you next time,
Mort
